Congressman Don Davis, representing North Carolina’s 1st district, shared his gratitude towards local first responders and community members through a series of tweets on November 27, 2024. His expressions of thanks were accompanied by the delivery of pies as part of an initiative called #PiesofThanks2024.

In a tweet from Pitt County posted on November 27, Davis expressed appreciation for first responders and 911 telecommunicators: “Expressing heartfelt gratitude in Pitt County! We delivered pies and extended our deep thanks to first responders and 911 telecommunicators. Your commitment makes a significant difference every day, and we rely on you to keep us safe!”

Continuing his outreach efforts, Davis visited Martin County later that day. He tweeted at 15:17 UTC about delivering pies to show appreciation for their role in the community: “Martin County just got served! We delivered delicious pies. Thank you for being the backbone of our community, especially during the holidays!”

The Congressman concluded his day in Bertie County with another gesture of gratitude towards local heroes. At 15:51 UTC, he posted: “It’s pie time in Bertie County! We delivered a sweet thank you to our unsung heroes. Your hard work and sacrifices are much appreciated. We respect and honor you more than you know!”
