Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D., has used his social media platform to address a range of policy issues, including pharmaceutical advertising, infrastructure improvements in North Carolina, and ongoing violence in Syria.

On September 23, 2025, Murphy commented on the state of pharmaceutical advertising in the United States. He wrote, “America is one of only two nations that allows the pharmaceutical industry to advertise drugs directly to consumers. Patients don’t need to see more commercials on television; they need cheaper drugs. Read my latest in @NewsweekOpinion https://t.co/Fz9C0xgvAT”.

Later that day, Murphy highlighted recent federal investment in local infrastructure. He stated, “I have been a consistent advocate for our dredging needs, especially in the AICW in NC. I am proud that a new $8+ million Army Corps of Engineers contract was awarded for maintenance dredging. We want to keep our beautiful waterways and communities safe and thriving. In another post from September 23, 2025, Murphy addressed violence against Christians in Syria. He wrote, “We must review what we have done in Syria. They are murdering and killing Christians without media reporting it. Enough of the Islamic terrorist bloodshed against peaceful peoples. https://t.co/RqxiTm2rbt”.

Murphy represents North Carolina’s 3rd congressional district and has secured several electoral victories since first winning office in a special election in 2019. In subsequent elections—2020, 2022, and most recently 2024—he defeated Daryl Farrow, Barbara Gaskins, and Gheorghe Cormos respectively by significant margins.
