On September 23, 2025, Murphy commented on the state of pharmaceutical advertising in the United States. He wrote, “America is one of only two nations that allows the pharmaceutical industry to advertise drugs directly to consumers. Later that day, Murphy highlighted recent federal investment in local infrastructure. He stated, “I have been a consistent advocate for our dredging needs, especially in the AICW in NC. Murphy represents North Carolina’s 3rd congressional district and has secured several electoral victories since first winning office in a special election in 2019. In subsequent elections—2020, 2022, and most recently 2024—he defeated Daryl Farrow, Barbara Gaskins, and Gheorghe Cormos respectively by significant margins.
