Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D., shared a series of updates on social media this week addressing weather warnings, healthcare policy, and community engagement.

On August 20, 2025, Murphy warned constituents about severe weather conditions affecting the Outer Banks area. He posted: “Dangerous rip currents, high waves, and strong winds are expected for the Outer Banks area in the next few days due to Hurricane Erin. Make sure to keep monitoring the storm and take the necessary precautions to be prepared and stay safe.” The post encouraged residents to remain vigilant as Hurricane Erin approached.

Later that day, Murphy addressed healthcare policy concerns in another post: “Democrats expanded Medicaid eligibility far beyond the program’s original intent, straining federal resources for individuals who actually need assistance the most. In the OBBB Act, Republicans enacted reforms and solutions to protect vulnerable patients and preserve the”. This statement referenced recent legislative efforts by Republicans related to Medicaid.

On August 21, 2025, Murphy highlighted his visit to a local facility focused on Parkinson’s Disease support. He wrote: “I had the opportunity to tour the Bike Box Project facility and hear testimonials from faculty and individuals in the New Bern community who live with Parkinson’s Disease. Thank you for everything this group does to inspire hope and resilience in those they serve.”
