On March 2, 2025, Congressman Murphy announced the annual Third Congressional District Art Competition. He expressed gratitude towards the Craven Arts Council and Gallery in New Bern for hosting the event. “I am excited to announce the annual Third Congressional District Art Competition. I want to extend a special thank you to the Craven Arts Council and Gallery in New Bern for hosting this wonderful event.”

The following day, March 3, 2025, he shared his appreciation for community leaders from Craven County who visited him in Washington. The discussions focused on supporting farmers, protecting communities from natural disasters, and addressing the opioid crisis. “It was wonderful having community leaders from Craven County stop by to discuss setting our farmers up for success, safeguarding our communities from natural disasters, and fighting the opioid epidemic.”
