Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D., has recently expressed views on several issues via his social media platform, addressing topics ranging from medical education to community impact initiatives. On April 24, 2025, Murphy shared his opinions on the banning of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in medical education, praised a local employment services organization in Eastern North Carolina, and discussed the matter of physician ownership of hospitals.

On April 24, Murphy posted a tweet in which he supported the prohibition of DEI in medical education. He stated, “Again I applaud the banning DEI in Medical Education. Liberal apologists played with patient’s lives to push a progressive discriminatory agenda. Doctors need to be selected as brightest and hardest working, not on identity politics.”

On the same day, Murphy visited the Eastern Carolina Vocational Center, sharing his experience on social media. He wrote, “Wonderful visiting the Eastern Carolina Vocational Center! As the largest employment services organization for people with disabilities in ENC, ECVC has made a lasting impact on our community. I enjoyed learning about the support they provide and touring their facility.” The ECVC is noted as a significant organization offering employment services for people with disabilities in Eastern North Carolina.

Further on April 24, Murphy addressed the issue of physician ownership of hospitals. He tweeted, “There is absolutely no reason that physicians should not be able to own hospitals. Period.”

The Eastern Carolina Vocational Center is recognized for providing essential employment services that aim to benefit individuals with disabilities in the area.
