Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D., recently took to social media to discuss a range of issues pertinent to healthcare and local community development. His comments addressed changes in the Medicare Fee Schedule, the unity required within the medical profession, and local economic initiatives.

On June 16, 2025, Congressman Murphy highlighted a significant legislative change affecting healthcare providers. He stated that “The House’s MEI adjustment changed the trajectory for the Medicare Fee Schedule from a negative to a positive.” He emphasized the potential consequences of not adopting this adjustment, suggesting it could lead to “the death of private practice,” resulting in increased costs and declining patient care due to consolidation. He urged the Senate to recognize these implications.

Later that day, he expressed concerns about unity within the medical field. In his view, “The House of Medicine needs to stand UNITED for the Doc fix.” Congressman Murphy warned that efforts contrary to this unity might undermine progress already achieved.

Additionally, Congressman Murphy shared insights from his visit to Spring Arbor of Outer Banks. On June 16, 2025, he tweeted his gratitude for being invited and discussed various local issues during his visit. He mentioned conversations on workforce challenges and public transportation improvements as means to enhance access and stimulate economic growth: “Thank you to @Spring_Arbor of Outer Banks for inviting me to visit the site and residents.”

These tweets reflect ongoing discussions in Congress regarding healthcare policy adjustments and underscore Congressman Murphy’s commitment to addressing both national health policies and local economic development.
