Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D., has recently shared his thoughts and experiences on social media regarding road safety and healthcare reform. His tweets highlight personal encounters with affected families and express concerns about current systems in place.

On May 5, 2025, Congressman Murphy posted about meeting Nikki Foster and Lisa Winstead, two parents from Pitt County who lost their teenage children in a crash involving a tractor-trailer. He expressed gratitude to @_SaferTrucking for their efforts in enhancing road safety measures to prevent similar tragedies. “I met Nikki Foster and Lisa Winstead, two Pitt County parents whose teenage children tragically passed away in a crash involving a tractor-trailer.”

The following day, May 6, 2025, Congressman Murphy reiterated his meeting with the same parents but noted that the incident involved a box-truck instead of a tractor-trailer. Again, he thanked @_SaferTrucking for their contributions to improving road safety standards. “I met Nikki Foster and Lisa Winstead, two Pitt County parents whose teenage children tragically passed away in a crash involving a box-truck.”

In another tweet on May 6, 2025, Congressman Murphy addressed issues within the Medicare Advantage program. He criticized insurance companies for implementing deceptive practices that prioritize profit over patient care. He indicated that reforms are forthcoming to address these issues. “Medicare Advantage started out with a good plan… Reform is coming.”
