County of Greene issued the following announcement on Feb. 23.

We would like to invite you all to the Grand Opening of the newly renovated Greene County Operations Center at 312 SE Second Street, Snow Hill, NC, on March 2 at 11 am. 

The former National Guard Armory has been completely renovated. The Greene County Operations Center houses the new Emergency Operations Center for Disaster Response, the E911 Communication and Dispatch Center, Greene County Emergency Services office, Greene County Transportation Department offices, Veterans Service Office, and the Greene County Board of Commissioners’ Meeting Room. 

Greene County received over 1.8 million dollars in grant funding to renovate the building provided by the Golden LEAF Foundation and the N.C. 911 Board.
