COUNTY OF PITT: COVID-19 N-95 Mask and Test Kit Drive-Through Event on Friday
0Comments

County of Pitt issued the following announcement on Feb. 8.

Pitt County Health Department is hosting this drive-through event for the public

The Pitt County Health Department will host a drive-through event on Friday, February 11, 2022 to distribute free N-95 respirator masks and free at-home COVID-19 test kits to the general public.

Time:           12:00 noon – 4:00 pm

Location:     Pitt County Cooperative Extension (Parking Lot)

403 Government Circle Greenville, NC

Supplies are limited, and will be distributed on a first come, first served basis. Each vehicle is limited to one (1) box of 20-count disposable N-95 respirator masks and two (2) Ellume brand at-home test kits.

The masks have been provided by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services following recent guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention stating that well-fitting N-95 masks, that are worn per manufacturer’s instructions, offer a higher level of protection from the COVID-19 virus than cloth masks or other disposable masks. The test kits have been provided by the United States Department of Defense in an effort to increase access to testing. Self-testing also helps individuals quickly determine if they test positive for the virus, prompting self-isolation, and preventing further community spread of the virus.

Individuals are responsible for following the manufacturer’s instructions for use of both the masks and the test kits. By participating in this drive-through event, individuals are assuming all responsibility for the proper use of these items and agree to hold Pitt County Government harmless.

Although this event is scheduled to be operational until 4:00 pm, the site may close early, if all supplies are exhausted prior to 4:00 pm.
