Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D., took to social media on October 13, 2025, to comment on issues ranging from the health insurance industry to recent political developments and international conflict resolution.

In a post on October 13, Murphy stated, “The Democrats did not destroy the Health Insurance industry. In the ACA fostered, fueled and created the mess we have today.”

Later that day, Murphy referenced ongoing debates over government funding and shutdowns, writing, “During the Schumer Shutdown it is interesting to find previous quotes that have the Democrats looking foolish. Pelosi and Schumer have both previously said that ‘Policy is not to be put in a clean CR.’ Even former President Obama weighed in on the 2013 shutdown by telling a crowd”.

In a third post on the same day, Murphy addressed a ceasefire and hostage release, expressing appreciation for former President Donald Trump’s role: “After over two years of conflict, a historic ceasefire and final hostage release has finally been secured. I am grateful for President Trump’s commitment to ending the war and efforts to bring lasting peace to the region.”

Murphy, who has represented his district since winning a special election in 2019, has consistently secured re-election in subsequent cycles. In 2024, he defeated Gheorghe Cormos with 77.4% of the vote, following earlier victories over Barbara Gaskins in 2022, Daryl Farrow in 2020, and Allen Thomas in 2019.
