Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D., posted a series of statements on his X (formerly Twitter) account on October 2, 2025, addressing various political and judicial topics. Murphy’s posts included comments directed at Hillary Clinton, criticism of the judiciary, and remarks about ongoing government funding negotiations.

In his first post on October 2, 2025, Murphy commented directly to Hillary Clinton: “What a horrible thing to say @HillaryClinton. This white male Christian will pray for you.”

Later that day, he addressed issues related to crime and the justice system in another tweet: “This issue isn’t about having more police officers. It’s about judges doing their damn job and locking this habitual criminals away.” (October 2, 2025).

In a third post focused on the federal government shutdown debate, Murphy called for Senate Democrats to support a continuing resolution: “It’s time for @SenateDems to vote for the clean CR and open the government back up. @SenSchumer, stop holding the American people hostage.” (October 2, 2025).

Murphy has represented North Carolina in Congress since winning a special election in 2019. He has since been re-elected multiple times with significant margins: defeating Allen Thomas in 2019 by nearly two-to-one; Daryl Farrow in 2020 with over sixty percent of the vote; Barbara Gaskins in 2022 by almost thirty-four percentage points; and Gheorghe Cormos in 2024 with more than seventy-seven percent of ballots cast.
