Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D., posted a series of statements on September 15, 2025, addressing issues related to the U.S. safety net system and international affairs involving Georgia.
In one post, Murphy called for changes to government assistance programs: “It is past time to reform the safety net system and make it stronger and better for those who truly need it. Accountability is long overdue.” (September 15, 2025).
He further commented on Medicaid administration across states, stating “Also, it has been discovered that millions of individuals were dually enrolled in Medicaid in two different states, which led to billions of dollars being given to states inappropriately.” (September 15, 2025).
Turning to foreign policy, Murphy expressed appreciation for a meeting with Salome Zourabichvili, former President of Georgia. He wrote: “Thank you to former President @Zourabichvili_S of Georgia for meeting with me to discuss the fight for freedom by the Georgian people who are resisting Russia. I am glad to see that former President Zourabichvili is working with the Commission to foster communication and” (September 15, 2025).
Murphy has served as a U.S. Congressman since winning a special election in 2019 against Allen Thomas. He subsequently won reelection in 2020 against Daryl Farrow, in 2022 against Barbara Gaskins, and most recently in 2024 against Gheorghe Cormos.
