Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D., posted a series of tweets on September 17 and 18, 2025, addressing both political criticism and legislative developments. Murphy, who has consistently secured reelection since first winning office in 2019, used his social media platform to comment on recent events and share updates about his work in Congress.

On September 17, Murphy publicly criticized television host Jimmy Kimmel, writing: “Disgusting @jimmykimmel @JimmyKimmelLive. A bridge too far. Have you no soul?”

The following day, Murphy announced the passage of bipartisan legislation supporting veterans with service-connected disabilities. In a tweet posted on September 18, he stated: “I am excited that H.R. 3579, the Veterans Readiness and Employment Program Integrity Act, has passed. As an original cosponsor of this bipartisan bill, I recognize its importance for accountability to improve support from the VA for veterans with service-connected disabilities.”

Later that same day, Murphy directed criticism at former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. He wrote: “Soul-less @HillaryClinton has no soul. Fascists are ones who fire people for not taking vaccines. Fascists are one’s who put forth a Presidential candidate wo a primary. Fascists call citizens ‘Deplorables’. She has no soul.”

Murphy represents North Carolina’s 3rd congressional district and has maintained strong electoral support in recent years. In the most recent general election in 2024, he defeated Gheorghe Cormos with over 77% of the vote; previous victories include defeating Barbara Gaskins in 2022 with nearly 67%, Daryl Farrow in 2020 with more than 63%, and Allen Thomas in a special election in 2019 with almost 62%.
