Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D., representing North Carolina’s 3rd district, shared insights on recent developments through a series of tweets. The posts highlighted his involvement in educational and defense initiatives within the state.

On November 22, 2024, Congressman Murphy expressed his enthusiasm for participating in East Carolina University’s groundbreaking ceremony for its new Center for Medical Education. He noted that “The state-of-the-art building will transform the medical school and enable it to increase its student population by 50%. It was an honor to celebrate the future of the center.”

Later that day, he mentioned his collaboration with Senator Ted Budd regarding a potential new hub for defense innovation in North Carolina. Murphy stated, “I proudly joined @SenTedBuddNC in support of North Carolina hosting a DIU OnRamp Hub so that our outstanding commercial technology can be considered for the Department of Defense’s warfighter applications.”

In another tweet posted at nearly the same time, Congressman Murphy emphasized North Carolina’s suitability as a host location for defense innovation programs. He wrote, “North Carolina’s thriving defense innovation ecosystem makes us an ideal location for the DOD DIU OnRamp Hub program. I am proud to support it.”
