Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D., representing Eastern North Carolina, shared updates and messages with his constituents through a series of posts on social media in early April 2026.

On April 5, Murphy posted an Easter greeting to his followers: “He is Risen! ‘He is not here; He has risen, just as He said.’ Matthew 28:6 Wishing you and your family a blessed and joyful Easter, Eastern North Carolina.”

The following day, April 6, he announced federal funding for coastal restoration efforts: “FEMA has awarded over $6 million in federal funding to repair beach and dune damage at North Topsail Beach caused by Hurricane Florence. I’m proud to support FEMA and grateful to announce funding to restore critical coastal infrastructure and protect our community!”

On April 7, in recognition of World Health Day, Murphy highlighted the importance of healthcare access: “Today, on World Health Day, we are reminded that good health is the foundation of strong families, thriving communities, and a prosperous nation. As a physician, I have seen firsthand how important access to quality, affordable care is for every American. We must continue”

Murphy has served as U.S. Representative since winning a special election in 2019 against Allen Thomas. He secured reelection victories in subsequent cycles: defeating Daryl Farrow in 2020 with 63.4% of the vote; Barbara Gaskins in 2022 with 66.9%; and Gheorghe Cormos in 2024 with 77.4%.
