Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D., representing North Carolina’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, has shared a series of statements on his social media platform addressing various issues. His comments reflect both personal sentiments and professional stances on current events and policy matters.

On December 9, 2024, Congressman Murphy expressed deep sorrow over a personal tragedy. He stated, “My heart is broken by this devastating news. The loss of a child is one of life’s greatest sorrows. Wendy and I are praying for you and your family. May God grant you peace and comfort in this extraordinarily difficult time.”

Later that day, Murphy addressed healthcare concerns with strong words against high denial rates in medical care. He tweeted, “The days of ridiculously high rate of denials are going to be coming to an end. As a physician caring for patients, this type of egregious behavior enrages me. With new leadership in place, this nonsense is going to stop.” He tagged notable figures such as Elon Musk, Vivek Ramaswamy, and Dr. Oz.

On December 10, 2024, Murphy turned his attention to federal response efforts following Hurricane Helene. He emphasized the need for prompt government action without unnecessary delays or complications: “We need the federal government to respond quickly with supplemental funding for Hurricane Helene recovery efforts. Neither holding out for a perfect deal nor cramming unrelated items into the package is helpful.”
