Rep. Chris Humphrey, a Republican representing North Carolina’s 12th House district since 2019, posted several messages on his Twitter account in early April 2026 reflecting on the Easter holiday and local leadership.

On April 3, Humphrey shared a religious message about Good Friday: “Good Friday reminds us that even in the darkest moments, God’s plan is still unfolding. Friday is good because Sunday is coming, He is risen. May we hold tight to that promise of hope and redemption.”

Two days later, on April 5, he marked Easter Sunday with another post: “Death was defeated, and grace prevailed. May the joy of the risen Christ fill your heart this Easter.”

In a tweet dated April 6, Humphrey praised Schumata for contributions to education and rural communities: “Schumata’s dedication to strengthening our schools, supporting local opportunity, and investing in the future of our rural communities is exactly the kind of leadership that makes eastern North Carolina strong. We’re all proud of you, my friend!”

Chris Humphrey has served as state representative for North Carolina’s 12th House district since his election in 2019, succeeding George Graham.
