Simply Natural Creamery, a Greenville shop that also has a nearby farm, had to dump thousands of gallons of raw milk because business is slow due to COVID-19, WITN reported.
The creamery couldn't donate the milk because it was raw and was never pasteurized, the news agency reported.
"A couple of our businesses that we are servicing are not in process right now and able to stay open so we have had to pour out a couple thousand gallons of milk and that's not what we want but most of our stores are still in operation," Manager Natalie Aynes told the news agency.
The farm told the news agency that raw milk is illegal to sell in the state and that while they wished they could've donated the milk, it wasn't possible. They urged the need for local support and asked people to buy local.
