82 percent of applicants to East Carolina University were admitted for fall 2018

At East Carolina University, 85 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 57 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Greenville enrolled 28,718 students in fall 2018, including 23,071 in undergraduate and 5,647 in graduate programs, data shows. 8 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

88 percent of undergraduates are residents of North Carolina, and 11 percent are residents of other states.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (66 percent) and Black or African American (16 percent).

The school admitted 82 percent of the 17,499 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 29 percent enrolled.
