North Carolina State Representative Gregory F. Murphy stated that the Biden Administration and "Liberal Elite" pose a "real threat to democracy" by aiming for "one-party rule" through legal manipulation and intimidation. Murphy made his statement in a June 22 post on X.
"The REAL threat to Democracy is the Biden Administration and the Liberal Elite," said F. Murphy. "One party and one committee rule is their ultimate goal. All obtained by weaponization of the law and threats of retaliation."
Murphy commented in response to a report by The American Conservative, which indicated that documents revealed a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) group proposed Americans report each other to federal law enforcement. America First Legal sued the DHS over establishing the Homeland Intelligence Experts Group, claiming it was illegally partisan and violated the Federal Advisory Committee Act. According to The American Conservative, the DHS agreed to disband the group and release its records to dismiss the lawsuit. The documents showed the DHS discussed increasing information collection on American citizens and planned to use various companies for this purpose.
