Congressman Greg Murphy issued a statement on the one-year anniversary of the October 7th attacks and the escalating threat of war in the Middle East. He remarked on the severity of the events from last year, emphasizing Israel's resilience against various adversaries. "Today marks the horrific tragedy of October 7th, 2023 when Israel was brutally and savagely attacked by the Hamas terrorist group," said Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D. He further mentioned ongoing threats from Hezbollah and Iran.

Murphy highlighted the global implications of rising tensions in the region. "Increasing tensions and regional instability present a threat not just to the Middle East, but to the global community," he stated. He stressed that any escalation by Tehran against Israel would have significant consequences.

Murphy called for unwavering support from allies. "The United States and its allies must remain stalwart in our support of our greatest Middle East ally in this grave time," he urged. Emphasizing strength as a means to peace, he concluded that unprovoked aggression should be met with determination.

The timeline following last year's attack includes key events such as Hezbollah's shelling from Lebanon, U.S. naval interventions, aid movements through Gaza, ground offensives by Israel, exchanges of hostages, and continued military actions involving various parties including Hezbollah and Iran.

Recent developments included operations against high-profile targets like Ismail Haniyeh and Hassan Nasrallah, as well as missile launches by Iran into Israel.
