Congressman Greg Murphy, representing North Carolina’s 3rd district, shared his views on meritocracy, federal funding for educational institutions, and veteran affairs through a series of tweets. These posts reflect his stance on current policies and interactions within the U.S. Congress.

On January 22, 2025, Congressman Murphy stated "Meritocracy is back. We want ALL Americans to strive for excellence. DEI is divisive, degrading and destructive. It is UnAmerican. Competition is good for everyone." This tweet indicates his perspective on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.

Later that day, he issued a warning to educational institutions in another tweet at 15:19:15 UTC: "Warning to all Colleges, Universities, Medical Schools and Medical Institutions who house degrading, divisive and demeaning DEI programs that their Federal funding will cease unless they disband these leftist progressive discriminatory schemes." He suggests potential federal funding consequences for those maintaining DEI programs.

Finally, at 23:43:50 UTC the same day, Murphy welcomed Sergeant Major Paul McKenna to his office before a Veterans’ Affairs Committee hearing. He expressed enthusiasm in his tweet "It was wonderful to have Sergeant Major Paul McKenna, USMC (Ret.), stop by my office this morning before his testimony in today’s Veterans’ Affairs Committee hearing. I look forward to hearing from him on the challenges veterans face using the VA’s Community Care Network." indicating ongoing engagement with veterans' issues.
