Town of Grifton issued the following announcement on Jul. 15.
CSX Transportation has scheduled the following crossings to be closed for maintenance and repair on the following schedule:
Pitt County, NC
Town of Ayden
Ernest Taylor Road (Between Weyerhaeuser Rd and Hartsfield Dr)
Closing on/around Monday, July 12th @ 6:00am
Set to reopen on/around Friday, July 16th by 5:00pm
*This is a total closure meaning no traffic will be allowed across the track until the work is complete*
Town of Grifton
Queen Street (Between Railroad St and N. Gordon St)
Closing on/around Monday, July 12th @ 6:00am
Set to reopen on/around Friday, July 16th by 5:00pm
*This is a total closure meaning no traffic will be allowed across the track until the work is complete*
City of Greenville
Regency Boulevard (Between Evans St and S. Memorial Dr)
Closing on/around Tuesday, July 26th @ 6:00am
Set to reopen on/around Friday, July 30th by 5:00pm
*This is a total closure meaning no traffic will be allowed across the track until the work is complete*
This will necessitate rerouting traffic. Signage will be in place marking detour routes. Please note the expected closure date(s). We will update you with changes in the schedule as they occur, as they are highly likely in this field of work. Please note that any/all dates are subject to change due to weather and/or other unforeseen conditions. Motorist should anticipate extended travel times and delays. Please avoid this closure area if at all possible.
