Emergency Management Update | CITY OF GREENVILLE: (greenvillenc.gov)
City of Greenville issued the following announcement on Jan. 6.
• Mostly sunny and cooler conditions are expected today, with high temperatures in the 40s across the mountains and in the 50s elsewhere.
• The higher elevations of western NC will see breezy conditions today, especially during the morning hours as winds could gust to around 40 mph at times.
• This weekend will not be a washout, but some light rain showers will be possible across the mountains later in the day Saturday and across much of the state on Sunday.
• A brief wintry mix is possible at the onset across the mountains and far northwestern Piedmont late Saturday – early Sunday, but no accumulation or impacts are currently expected.
• The next chance of light rain will come on Tuesday, but it currently appears most precipitation will remain offshore.
• A better chance of precipitation will arrive late Thursday, and it may be cold enough for some wintry precipitation across the mountains.
