Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D., representing North Carolina’s 3rd district, recently shared a series of tweets discussing various issues related to healthcare, education policies, and the financial sector. Murphy has been serving in Congress since 2019 after succeeding Walter B. Jones Jr.
On March 5, 2025, Congressman Murphy highlighted the significant impact of chronic diseases on healthcare spending in America. He stated that "In America, nearly 90 percent of health care dollars are attributable to chronic disease. We must give patients the tools to get healthy again." Murphy expressed his commitment to supporting legislation that would codify former President Trump's initiatives aimed at expanding preventative healthcare.
Later the same day, Murphy addressed changes in medical education policies. He tweeted about President Trump's remarks on eliminating liberal policies and discrimination based on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) from medical schools. According to Murphy's tweet "President Trump @POTUS spoke about ridding Medical Schools of Liberal Policies and DEI discrimination." He also mentioned Linda McMahon's role as the new Secretary of Education in reversing progressive indoctrination.
Additionally, Congressman Murphy engaged with industry stakeholders by speaking with The Carolinas Credit Union League (CCUL). In his tweet from March 5th "This morning, I spoke with @TheCCUL to discuss the challenges facing the industry." he emphasized the importance of providing credit unions with tools necessary for maintaining competitiveness and continuing their community investments.
