Washington, D.C. - Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D. has made his stance clear on the latest continuing resolution, H.R. 6363, as he voted against it. In a statement, Congressman Murphy expressed his concern about extending the current spending levels and policies set by the Biden-Pelosi administration.

"I believe a government shutdown benefits no one and is to the detriment of our nation," said Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D. "However, extending the Biden-Pelosi spending levels and policies is not the right path to go down. We must fundamentally change the way Washington works instead of governing by CR."

Congressman Murphy emphasized the need for a different approach to address the challenges faced by the country. He believes that continually passing continuing resolutions only postpones the necessary changes and exacerbates the existing issues.

"Doing so kicks the can down the road and only exacerbates the challenges we're facing as a nation," he explained. "I am eager to do whatever it takes to show the American people that House Republicans can govern effectively, reduce the unsustainable growth of our national debt, and secure our southern border."

Congressman Murphy's vote against the two-step continuing resolution reflects his commitment to finding long-term solutions and addressing the underlying problems in Washington. By advocating for fundamental changes in the way the government operates, he aims to ensure effective governance, fiscal responsibility, and the security of the nation's borders.

As the debate on government spending and policies continues, Congressman Murphy's stance serves as a reminder of the need for comprehensive reforms rather than temporary measures. With a focus on reducing the national debt and securing the southern border, he aims to demonstrate the ability of House Republicans to govern effectively and address the pressing issues facing the country.

The voting outcome highlights the diversity of opinions within Congress and the importance of robust discussions to find the best path forward for the nation.
