7.4% of Pitt County residents considered unemployed in 2021

Pitt County recorded an unemployment rate of 7.4% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 6,430 people out of the 170,600 living in Pitt County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Pitt County has decreased compared to the 8.1% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Pitt County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 5.2%.

Of the 80,959 people who had a job during that time, 480 were employed in the Armed Forces and 80,479 belonged to the civilian labor force.
