Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D., issued a statement on June 28, 2024, regarding the Supreme Court's decision to overturn the Chevron precedent.

"Today, the Supreme Court dealt a historic blow to Washington bureaucracy by striking down the Chevron deference. In doing so, our courts will now be required to defer to the intent of Congress," said Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D. "For 40 years, the administrative state has been able to skirt congressional intent with little consequence. For laws that are ambiguous, courts are compelled to use agencies’ interpretations, not Congress’s. This defies the separation of powers in our government and has inhibited our obligation and ability to address pressing issues swiftly and transparently. Americans’ voices are heard when their representatives write the laws of the land, not the unelected bureaucrats in the swamp."
