North Carolina State Representative Gregory F. Murphy has engaged with constituents regarding "absolutely unacceptable" outdated communication methods of the Civilian Health and Medical Program of the Department of Veterans Affairs (CHAMPVA) and is advocating for system modernization.
"Today, I met with constituents regarding difficulties that they are having with ChampVA," said F. Murphy. "Among their concerns is that ChampVA still uses paper and fax for their communications and have no online portal for communications. In this day and age this is absolutely unacceptable. I will be working with my DC VA staff and the Veterans Affairs Committee to push ChampVA to update their systems and provide more efficient and reliable care for our Veterans and their families."
CHAMPVA is a health benefits program that shares the cost of certain healthcare services and supplies with eligible beneficiaries. Managed by the Veterans Health Administration in Denver, Colorado, CHAMPVA covers spouses, widows, and children of veterans who are permanently disabled or have died due to service-connected conditions, according to the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs.
