Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D., who represents North Carolina’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, shared several updates on December 12, 2024, through his social media platform. His posts addressed topics ranging from national defense to medical education and pharmaceutical innovation.

On December 12, 2024, Congressman Murphy expressed his support for the FY25 National Defense Authorization Act by stating: "I’m proud to have voted in favor of the FY25 National Defense Authorization Act to authorize funding to strengthen our national security and improve the quality of life of our service men and women."

Later that day, he highlighted issues within medical education and practice with a focus on increasing physician productivity. He stated: "Yes we need more Medical Schools but, as importantly, we need to increase physician productivity. That means less hassle with EMR’s and insurance companies and our Medical Schools teaching to work hard at being a doctor and not a social justice warrior."

In another post on December 12, Congressman Murphy discussed his meeting with Biogen Inc., emphasizing the importance of access to innovative therapies. He remarked: "It was a pleasure meeting with Biogen Inc. to discuss the impact their innovative therapies and medications are making in the lives of patients struggling with critical diseases. Americans deserve access to life-saving innovations at an affordable price."
