Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D., has announced the upcoming fourth Veterans History Project event. This initiative invites local veterans to share their stories, which will be preserved in the Library of Congress.

"As the representative of over 76,000 veterans, it is my honor to help record the stories of our veterans in the Library of Congress," stated Congressman Murphy. "This event has been a tremendous success over the last two years, bringing together veterans from across North Carolina's Third Congressional District to preserve the history of their service for future generations. I am proud to continue spearheading this important and heartwarming endeavor."

The Veterans History Project (VHP) is sponsored by the Library of Congress and aims to collect and make accessible firsthand accounts from U.S. military veterans. The project highlights stories of sacrifice, bravery, and heroism.

Organizations attending include the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), and Disabled Veterans of America (DAV).

The event is scheduled for March 6th, 2025, at Beaufort County Community College's Boyette Conference Center Building 10 in Washington, NC. Doors open at 9:30 AM with activities running until 4 PM.

Veterans can record their stories on video for submission to the Library of Congress. The recording time must be at least 30 minutes but may vary depending on attendance.
