Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D., currently serving North Carolina's 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, shared a series of statements on social media reflecting on education and healthcare. Murphy, who succeeded Walter B. Jones Jr. in 2019, previously served in the North Carolina House of Representatives and has been an advocate for various issues within his district.

On April 3, 2025, Murphy expressed his admiration for local students: "I am incredibly proud of the nearly two hundred Craven County High School seniors who maintained a 4.0 GPA or greater through all four years. Their future is bright, and I wish them all the best as they begin the next chapter of their lives!" The Congressman recognized the hard work of these seniors as they transition to the next phase of their education or careers.

Later that day, April 3, Murphy mentioned his meeting with Chancellor Karrie Dixon from North Carolina Central University. He shared: "It was wonderful meeting with @NCCU Chancellor Karrie Dixon to discuss how Congress can help our institutions of higher education thrive. I enjoyed hearing about her first year as chancellor and her vision for the Eagles." This meeting underscores Murphy’s ongoing commitment to supporting educational institutions in his state.

On April 4, 2025, Murphy turned his attention to the healthcare system, critiquing its current state with strong language: "The hard truths must be spoken. The US Healthcare system is a mess. From Production to Delivery from Accessibility to Affordability from Education to Implementation. The middleman is killing the patient. To stand by and accept the status quo is unacceptable." Addressing the challenges in healthcare, Murphy emphasized the need for comprehensive reforms in the industry.
