The Town Creek Culvert plan, a $33 million project that began in March 2018, is finally completed, Greenville city officials said.
The project was deemed substantially complete and small details will be completed over the next few weeks, Greenville city officials said in an Oct. 12 release.
As part of the final steps to complete the project, workers will install a permanent traffic signal at the intersection of Evans Street and Reade Circle in the spring, Greenville city officials said in the release.
The creek project fixed drainage issues on approximately 300 acres in downtown and adjacent to the land, city officials said in the release. It began near Ninth Street and Washington Street and continued to Tar River.
The city noted that all parts of the project that impacted traffic or parking lot access were now completed and that the traffic light this spring would have minimal impact on traffic.
