Farmville Public Library issued the following announcement on Sep 24.
Argh you ready to build with a Pirate professor? Primary school students (K-2nd graders) and their caregivers are invited to participate in a hands-on building program led by professors and staff from the Department of Construction Management at East Carolina University on Wednesday, September 29 from 4:00-5:30pm at Farmville Public Library. Participants will turn pretzels and marshmallows into shapes and standing structures and will learn about geometry and the difference between 2-D and 3-D shapes. Kids will be challenged to build a standing structure, like a Creeper from Minecraft, an animal, castle, or anything they can imagine.
The program is free and open to the public. All ages are welcome to attend with a primary school (5-8 year old) participant. For more information, contact Farmville Public Library at 252-753-3355 or email Heather at hharden@farmvillenc.gov. Farmville Public Library is located at 4276 W. Church St, Farmville.
This project was made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS grant number LS-249980-OLS-21).
