COUNTY OF GREENE: September 24, 2021 – COVID Press Release

County of County issued the following announcement on Sep 24. 

The Greene County Department of Public Health is reporting 1more deathin the county of a residentwho tested positive for COVID-19. To protect their privacy, no further information will be released at this time. Greene County Department of Public Health Director Joy Brock said, “I am saddened by thisdeathand so sorry for the families as they grieve. My thoughts and prayers are with theindividual’s family and friends.” 

The Greene County Department of Public Health has received the following notifications of new lab-confirmed positive COVID-19 cases: 

•Monday, 9/20–23new cases

•Tuesday, 9/21 –9 new cases

•Wednesday, 9/22 –9new cases

•Thursday, 9/23 –13new cases

•Today, 9/24–6new cases

That brings our total number of cases to 3,141. Out of the 3,141lab-confirmed positive cases to date, 2,968of the individuals have recovered, are doing well, and are out of isolation. Greene County currently has 113active cases. Out of the 113active cases, the Health Department is monitoring 108of those individuals, 5arecurrently hospitalized, and noneisarein a congregate setting (i.e. correctional facility, long-term care facility). Greene County has had 60deaths.

Greene County is continuing to monitor the situation and its impact on our community. New information will be shared as necessary. Residents who feel they need COVID-19 testing, can go tothe Greene County Community Center located at 814 W. Harper Street in Snow Hill. 

Testing will take place on Mondays, Tuesdaysand Thursdays, 9 a.m. -6 p.m.If you need to schedule an appointment for your COVID vaccine (Moderna), please call the Greene County Department of Public Health at (252) 747-8181. Same day service available on most days.
