County of Pitt issued the following announcement on Nov. 14.
Pitt County Board Commissioners are seeking input from the community on how to utilize American Rescue Plan Act funds within the federal guidelines for eligible expenses. Pitt County Government will host 5 in-person sessions, 5 virtual sessions, and three public addresses to the Board during November and December 2021. Public input from the sessions and online web portal will be presented to the Board for review by January 31, 2022.
The American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA or “ARP”) fund provides $350 billion to state, local, territorial, and Tribe governments nationwide for COVID-19 pandemic recovery assistance. Pitt County will receive $35,000,000. The first half was received in May 2021 and the second half will arrive in May 2022.
Pitt County will offer the community an opportunity to voice their input via the following methods:
Board of Commissioners Public Comment during Board Meetings
November 15th, December 6th, and December 20th – Eugene James Auditorium – Pitt County Office Building – 1717 W. 5th Street, Greenville – 6:00 PM. Speakers are allowed up to three minutes during the Public Address to the Board section of the agenda.
In-Person Sessions
November 10th – Eugene James Auditorium – Pitt County Office Building – 1717 W. 5th Street, Greenville – 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
November 17th – Mark W. Owens, Jr Auditorium – Pitt County Agricultural Center – 403 Government Circle, Greenville – 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
November 29th – Community Schools & Recreation – Alice Keene District Park – 4561 County Home Rd, Greenville – 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
December 1st – Grimesland Town Hall – 7592 Pitt Street, Grimesland, NC 27837 – 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
December 7th – Farmville Town Hall – 3672 North Main Street, Farmville – 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Zoom Virtual Sessions
