TOWN OF AYDEN: Notice of Planning Board Vacancies

Town of Ayden issued the following announcement on Nov. 25.

The Town of Ayden Governing Board is seeking residents of the town and the town’s ETJ that are interested in serving as a member/alternate member of the Ayden Planning Board. The Planning Board is an advisory board that provides recommendations on land use and development related issues and applications to the Board of Commissioners.  

The Board is responsible for reviewing rezoning applications, conditional use permit applications, subdivision proposals, site development plans and amendments to the town’s Future Land Use Map.  The Board’s efforts help to shape the town’s development related policy and provide the Board of Commissioners with recommendations after a thorough review process.  

The ETJ position is recommended by the Ayden Board of Commissioners and is appointed by the Pitt County Board of Commissioners to fill a three-year term. The Planning Board typically meets on the third Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m., in the District Courtroom located on the second floor of the Ayden Town Hall.   

Interested applicants must fill out an application of interest to serve. Applicants applying for an ETJ position must fill out a Pitt County Application as well as a Town of Ayden application.
