Congressman Don Davis, representing North Carolina’s 1st district since 2023, has recently shared his thoughts on various issues via social media. The congressman addressed matters ranging from support for family caregivers to hurricane relief efforts and veteran care. His messages reflect a commitment to supporting essential societal roles and responding to natural disasters affecting his constituents.

On November 18, 2024, Congressman Davis highlighted the significance of National Family Caregivers Month. He announced that he is cosponsoring bipartisan bills aimed at supporting family caregivers, whom he described as "unsung heroes of our healthcare system and our society." Davis emphasized the importance of legislative progress in caring for these individuals who provide essential services. "In the spirit of National Family Caregivers Month, we are cosponsoring the following bipartisan bills to lift up some of the unsung heroes of our healthcare system and our society. Congress must continue making progress to ensure we are caring for those who take care of us."

Later that day, Congressman Davis turned his attention to recent natural disasters affecting North Carolina. He commented on the severe impact caused by Hurricanes Helene and Milton, acknowledging the resilience demonstrated by local residents. In response to this crisis, Davis called for prompt congressional action to deliver much-needed relief assistance: "The devastation from Hurricanes Helene and Milton is unimaginable. North Carolinians are showing incredible strength. Our communities need help, and Congress must act swiftly to pass a relief bill."

Concluding his statements on November 18th, Congressman Davis focused on veterans' issues, particularly emphasizing support for disabled veterans and their caregivers. He outlined steps being taken to improve efficiency within the VA Caregivers Program by reducing bureaucratic hurdles: "Honoring our veterans and their caregivers is a commitment we must uphold every day.
