Congressman Don Davis, representing North Carolina’s 1st district, shared a series of updates via social media on November 19, 2024. His communications highlighted legislative achievements, community engagement events, and local initiatives aimed at supporting residents in need.

On November 19, 2024, Congressman Davis announced the passage of a significant piece of legislation. "Proud to announce that H.R. 8371, the Senator Elizabeth Dole 21st Century Veterans Healthcare and Benefits Improvement Act, passed the House! The bill includes the Veteran Caregiver Application and Appeals Reform Act of 2023, or CARE Act, which will cut the red tape for disabled…"

Later that day, he shared details about an educational event hosted by the Rocky Mount Chamber of Commerce. "The Rocky Mount Chamber of Commerce hosted an informative Lunch and Learn to teach participants how to perform CPR safely. Participants left feeling better equipped to respond to emergencies."

In another update on November 19, Davis highlighted a collaborative effort by Wilson County DSS and United Way of Wilson County. "Wilson County DSS, United Way of Wilson County, and other community partners are banding together to collect donated cold-weather items and provide community resources. Coats, hats, scarves, and gloves will be available outside of Wilson County Public Library for those in need…"
