Congressman Don Davis, representing North Carolina’s 1st district since 2023, has recently shared several updates on legislative efforts and community events through social media. Davis, who succeeded G.K. Butterfield, is actively involved in initiatives supporting veterans and local agriculture.

On November 19, 2024, Congressman Davis announced the introduction of the Veterans Employment Readiness Yield Act (VERY Act), describing it as a "practical bill that will assist veterans in overcoming employment barriers." The bill aims to address challenges faced by veterans entering the workforce. "The Veterans Employment Readiness Yield Act is a practical bill that will assist veterans in overcoming employment barriers."

Later that day, he expressed gratitude towards disabled veterans while highlighting congressional approval of the VERY Act. He emphasized the importance of respect and resources for these individuals and acknowledged organizations such as PVA and DAV for endorsing this legislation. "Disabled veterans deserve our utmost respect. Congress passed the VERY Act, to ensure our veterans receive the respect and resources they deserve. A special thank you to PVA and DAV for their endorsement of this crucial legislation."

In addition to legislative updates, Davis attended the Farm to City Breakfast at the Nash County Agriculture Center on November 19, 2024. This annual event is hosted by the Nash County Cooperative Extension and serves as an opportunity to advocate for agriculture while recognizing local farmers' contributions. "The Farm to City Breakfast at the Nash County Agriculture Center is an annual event hosted by the Nash County Cooperative Extension."
