Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D., representing North Carolina’s 3rd district, has shared his views on healthcare issues through a series of tweets. His comments reflect concerns about veterans' health, medical education, and Medicare policies.

On November 20, 2024, Congressman Murphy emphasized the importance of providing veterans with traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) access to therapies that could be transformative. He stated: "We must enable our veterans suffering from TBIs and PTSD to receive therapy that could change their lives. As a surgeon, I have used hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) for years on patients who need help healing their wounds."

Later that day, Murphy addressed the issue of political influence in medical education. At 15:23 UTC, he tweeted: "Long past time that our Medical schools get away from pushing Leftist Politics and start concentrating on educating their students and residents to learn to control costs. Stop the incessant tests and referrals. Go back to taking a full history and physical. #PatientOwnership"

Further expressing concern over Medicare's financial practices, Murphy noted significant reductions in physician fees over two decades. On November 20 at 18:04 UTC, he remarked: "While other segments of the US Healthcare Market make records profits, Medicare has cut physician fees 29%over the last 20 years. Docs can’t take care of Medicare patients if the cuts continue. My bills protects Medicare patients access to their Doc."
