Later that same day, Congressman Davis celebrated a development in medical education infrastructure. He announced the commencement of construction for a new building at East Carolina University by stating, "We’re thrilled to break ground on the East Carolina University Center for Medical Education Building as we celebrate National Rural Health Day in eastern North Carolina."
