Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D. recently hosted retired Sergeant Major Paul McKenna of the United States Marine Corps to testify before the House Committee on Veterans' Affairs. The testimony focused on the difficulties veterans encounter when accessing healthcare through the Department of Veterans Affairs Community Care Network.

In a statement, Congressman Murphy expressed his gratitude for McKenna's contribution. "It was an honor to host Sergeant Major (Ret.) Paul McKenna to testify in front of the House Committee on Veterans' Affairs," he said. "McKenna's compelling testimony on the challenges veterans face in receiving health care moved the committee immensely. We continue to fail our veterans in this country, and it is despicable. Those who wore the uniform and fought for our freedom deserve to receive timely access to high-quality care. I am very grateful for McKenna's service to our nation and for taking the time to share his story dealing with the failures of VA Community Care Network before Congress."

McKenna served 36 years in the Marine Corps, earning numerous commendations including three Legion of Merit awards, two Bronze Stars, and several Navy Commendation Medals.
