Congressman Don Davis, representing North Carolina's 1st district, recently shared several updates on social media regarding military and veteran affairs. These posts reflect his ongoing commitment to supporting veterans and recognizing their contributions to the community.

On February 15, 2025, Congressman Davis announced a change of command ceremony at the 333rd Fighter Squadron located at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. The event was held to honor Lt. Col. Taylor “Latch” Francis for his exceptional service. Congressman Davis invited the public to welcome Lt. Col. Brian “Bud” Leitzke as he assumed command of the squadron. "The 333rd Fighter Squadron at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base held a change of command ceremony to honor the exceptional service of Lt. Col. Taylor “Latch” Francis and his family."

In another post on the same day, Congressman Davis expressed appreciation for veterans and their families in Eastern North Carolina, particularly highlighting Valentine's Day as an opportunity to show gratitude towards them. "Eastern NC loves our veterans and their families, especially on Valentine's Day, a great time to show a veteran how much we care."

Later that day, Congressman Davis emphasized the importance of supporting veteran-owned businesses through legislative efforts such as the Veterans Jobs Opportunity Act. He highlighted Carl Hill, a U.S. Army veteran who owns Lenoir Lock and Key, LLC, as an example of entrepreneurship among veterans that contributes positively to local communities."When we support veteran-owned businesses, we create jobs and allow our communities to thrive."
