North Carolina State Rep. Jon Bell (R-Greene) said the Republican message is "one of success."
"Look at what has happened over the last ten years," Bell said while speaking to the North Carolina Federation of Young Republicans in a video shared Aug. 10 on his Facebook page. "You have one of the strongest economies of any state in the country."
Bell talked about the accomplishments Republicans have made at the state Legislature. He said when the party came into power in the General Assembly, they were faced with a state in billions of dollars of debt, teachers being laid off, and bad roads. He claimed Republicans have turned that around.
"We've been a shining example of what to do with tax reform, what to do with school reform, what to do with policies," Bell said in the video recording.
Bell said now, people are moving into North Carolina, not leaving the state. He went on to say if a house is on the market for a week in Raleigh it's a long time. He said even in his small town of Mount Olive houses are selling quickly.
"People want to be here, people want to work here," Bell said in the video.
He said North Carolina was also on the forefront when the COVID-19 pandemic got underway. He said they were able to keep the state government open by moving to an all-digital platform within a week.
He said Republicans in the state have a strong message of "success and prosperity" plus the record to back it up.
"It's one that should reach across all ages and races, and ethnic backgrounds," Bell said in the video, "it's one that when you have the conversations with people, people jump on board because you all want to be successful."
