Town of Farmville issued the following announcement on Dec. 23.
The town of Farmville is pleased to host a Black Tie Gala to celebrate its upcoming 150th anniversary.
Join us, January 15 at the Train Depot Station, located at the corner of Wilson and Walnut Streets, from 7-11 p.m. to dance the night away.
Musical entertainment will be provided by the Rakiem Walker Project and a cash bar will be available.
Catering is provided by Myrtle Grove Catering.
Mayor John Moore will serve as the Master of Ceremony.
During the event, commemorative tokens and wine glasses celebrating Farmville's 150 years will be available for purchase.
Tickets are required to attend and cost $75 per person or $650 for a reserved table of eight.
