Citizens to Elect P.J. Connelly, based in a city associated with Pitt County, was the only political committee in the county with expenses during October.

It spent $1,784 on three vendors during the time period.

The largest expense was for Advertisement to Signs on the Cheap, which is based in Austin.

What’s known as “dark money”, which comes from political non-profits and shell corporations, has greatly increased expenditures and donations in recent elections to record-breaking highs.
