Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D., representing North Carolina's 3rd district, recently shared his thoughts and initiatives through a series of tweets. These posts highlight his engagement with local media, legislative efforts to support disaster preparedness, and commentary on corporate tax policy.

On March 5, 2025, Congressman Murphy expressed his appreciation for meeting with broadcasters from North Carolina. He emphasized the vital role that local radio and television stations play in keeping communities informed during emergencies. "Wonderful meeting with broadcasters from our great state of North Carolina."

Later that day, he introduced the Disaster Mitigation and Tax Parity Act aimed at supporting coastal communities in North Carolina. The legislation proposes tax exemptions for grants provided under the Strengthen Your Roof program to aid in hurricane preparedness. "NC’s Strengthen Your Roof program is critical to protecting our coastal communities from the next devastating hurricane..."

In another tweet on March 5, Murphy addressed misconceptions about corporate tax policy. He criticized the Obama-era corporate tax rate for driving businesses overseas and praised the reduction implemented by the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act for bringing businesses back to America. "There is a great deal of misinformation swirling around about how Corporate Tax policy affects business activity."
