Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D., representing North Carolina’s 3rd district, recently shared his thoughts on several key issues through a series of tweets. His statements address legislative initiatives and concerns regarding healthcare reforms and disaster mitigation.

On March 10, 2025, Congressman Murphy highlighted the importance of the "NC’s Strengthen Your Roof program" in protecting coastal communities from hurricanes. He expressed pride in introducing legislation aimed at exempting catastrophe mitigation payments from federal income taxes. "NC’s Strengthen Your Roof program is critical to protecting our coastal communities from the next devastating hurricane."

Later that day, Murphy emphasized the need for reform within federal health insurance programs. As a physician with experience caring for underprivileged patients, he stressed the necessity of eliminating abuses by ineligible beneficiaries and large insurance companies to safeguard Medicare and Medicaid for those truly in need. "While as a physician I have for years cared for poor patients, we simply must reform the abuses of our federal health insurance programs."

In another tweet on March 10, 2025, Murphy announced an agreement between the Speaker and Majority Leader to include a "Doc Fix" provision in Reconciliation efforts, expressing hope for a long-term solution. "Speaker and Majority Leader agree for Doc Fix to be in Reconciliation. Hopefully long term"
