Murphy Applauds Buxton Beach Clean Up Efforts

Washington, D.C. — Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D. commended the ongoing efforts to address petroleum contamination along the shorelines of Buxton, NC. The Congressman stated, "I am monitoring developments closely and working with local, state, and federal officials to ensure swift remediation." He expressed his gratitude by saying, "Thank you to Dare County, NC HHS: Public Health, Cape Hatteras National Seashore, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the U.S. Coast Guard for their coordination on this critical issue."

In light of the situation, Congressman Murphy urged surfers to prioritize safety, saying, "I encourage surfers to please refrain from surfing in this area." Looking ahead, he expressed optimism for the future, stating, "I look forward to the restoration of Buxton Beach and a healthy environment along our beautiful coastline."
